Procurement Manager Jobs

A procurement manager plans and manages the procurement orders of the company. A procurement manager develops and reviews the purchase and clerical procedures in order to ensure efficiency of operation. A procurement manager is responsible for approval of suppliers and the price offered, keeps a track of all the old and new suppliers and reviews each and every contract and also the past performance of each contract. A procurement manager ensures that the financial and administrative reports regarding the purchased merchandise are prepared accurately. A procurement manager handles special as well as complex and difficult assignments.

A procurement manager should be well conversant with the commodity markets and price trends as well as various grades, qualities and variety of material. If required the procurement manager should explain complicated technical problems using simple non-technical terms using the correct language. A procurement manager should maintain a liaison with suppliers and vendors. A procurement manager should possess a bachelor's or a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business or Economics with experience in this domain and should possess excellent communication and convincing skills along with being well conversant with computers.
