This is an exciting senior level position where you will lead a large team that is responsible for strategic development and execution of category strategy to deliver financial results across a very broad portfolio of customers. Categories in scope includes all direct and indirect Supplies, Equipment & Services – everything that isn’t Food! Programs like Foodservice Disposables and Equipment, Fleet, Travel, Facilities Maintenance, Contingent Labor, Uniforms, Office Supplies to name a few. We are expanding rapidly in the Hospitality sector and new contracts cover customer needs in areas such as Lighting, Air Scent, Deep Cleaning, AV equipment, Furniture and Fixtures and Paint.
This role reports into the Senior Vice President of Category Development and is based our Charlotte, NC.
What You’ll Do
Define and execute the strategy for the SES function, balancing your time and focus between growing existing high margin, mature, foodservice focused categories with launching exciting new portfolio offerings to compete in underpenetrated business channels.
Lead, motivate and develop a team of 26 Category Development Managers and Specialists to deliver successful commercial results.
Manage senior level relationships within Foodbuy and with suppliers and customers.
Achieve annual financial targets and take ownership for budget setting, ongoing management and monthly re-forecasting of income at a detailed supplier level.
Maintain a robust understanding of competitor offerings and present opportunities to derive new commercial advantage.
Work effectively in a growth focused environment, developing new tools and processes and bringing pragmatic solutions.
Draw conclusions and insights from large data sets, quickly and accurately.
What You’ll Need
10 years management experience in procurement with a track record of outstanding leadership behavior and results.
Expertise in a variety of Supplies, Equipment and Services categories.
A passion for quality and the ability to consistently extract the best from people.
Proven record in developing strategic business plans, creating annual budgets and managing cross functional projects.
Strong business acumen and analytical mind.
Experience negotiating and building relationships at senior levels.
A great attitude –flexibility, optimism, resourcefulness and transparency.
Ability to provide strategic direction and also contribute at the operational level.
Energy to operate at pace in a rapidly changing environment and manage multiple agendas.
Flexibility to deliver in new, undefined space (“the gray”) at times as well as within defined processes and established structure.
Outstanding presentation and influencing skills.
