Lots of monkeys.The Technical Support Engineer must have demonstrable hands-on hardware, software and O/S support experience (including installation, configuration and troubleshooting) with exposure to a wide variety of products, issues and customer types. They must have an excellent understanding of computers (both hardware and software) and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology. They must possess superior technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. Additionally, they must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. Previous experience exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy required. Proven ability to operate in extreme high-pressure situations, successfully handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible. They must possess superior people skills dealing with all levels of a team environment up to and including presentations and explanation of projects to upper level management. Regular activities include pc imaging and repair, network engineering and troubleshooting, project management, systems administration in a variety of software and hardware environments, root cause analysis in problem solving, and assistance in managing the daily activities of the department. Responsibilities:You will be the main point of contact for individuals reporting or highlighting issues with systems or equipment. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will:· Be responsible for user management, configuration of new processes and projects, training, documentation, and daily routine maintenance· Be the initial point of contact for all functionality issues, bug reports, upgrades, security patches and enhancement submissions· Triage all requests for functionality changes and enhancements to prioritize accordingly, and they facilitate distribution of information to the Business in dealing with the Application Support team's backlog· Develop and analyze highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance· Work closely with end users to gather requirements and enhance the systems· Evaluate products and upgrades for appropriateness. Oversee and implement system upgrade strategies· Research current systems technology and serve as subject matter expert on complex systems processes and procedures· Keep process and other related documents updated· Dashboard Creation· Scripting and Automation Coding· Software Development- Travel up to 25% of the time
Basic Qualifications\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience\u2022 Experience with PowerShell scripting\u2022 Experience with AWS (Amazon web services)\u2022 Linux/Unix command line interface skills (CLI)\u2022 Microsoft Windows Server and Client OS Automation and Management Experience (2012 R2, 7 and newer)\u2022 Strong troubleshooting skills \u2022 Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms\u2022 Ability to manage high priority projects
