The past 12 months have been an exciting time for us. Our team has grown five-fold during this period and we now need a special individual who's looking to take the next step in their career to join our cutting-edge Engineering and Construction Team. The Director of Construction
is an integral part of the Engineering and Construction Team and is responsible for managing the construction activities associated with new installation and upgrades and retrofits to existing facilities.
15 years of relevant experience executing construction projects in the food or manufacturing sectors.
10 years in a relevant Functional
Experience managing the build-out of manufacturing or process equipment in industrial-scale facilities, 100K square feet or more.
Proficient in Auto-CAD and/or Solidworks
Must have experience developing and improving standardized costing models.
Demonstrate experience in managing project and departmental costs, setting and meeting schedules and timelines, and experience in the procurement process.
Experience developing commissioning plans and equipment validation plans and delivering results.
Must effectively manage and grow a team of employees, acquire additional contract resources as needed and/or employ third-party service providers as required to accomplish goals.
Must have strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and communicate outcomes, prepare progress reports and track project financials, and develop presentations and present in a cross functional environment to internal and external audiences.
Ability to interface with third-party facility certifiers including worker safety, food safety, building inspectors and permitting agencies.
Experience with food safety standards, risk analysis, FMEAs, design controls and sanitary design best practices
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
Extensive travel may be necessary and will vary depending on project location but will require full time presence on site during the project construction and
Office environment requires the ability to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time.
Physical requirements to work on projects may include lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Site visits will require the ability to climb stairs, walk long distances (more than 100 yards), climb ladders, and stooping, kneeling, or bending for extended periods of time.
