In this role you will provide advanced procurement expertise in a new product development environment and have extensive interaction with suppliers, engineering, quality control, receiving inspection, accounting and the divisional supply chain team. The ideal candidate will:\u00a0 Be passionate about procurement in support for state-of-the art implantable medical devices and manufacturing processes Be energized by working for a world-class manufacturer and collaborating on cross-functional teams Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships Responsibilities will include the following: Procurement of R&D materials, components, services and contract manufactured devices for multiple new product development projects and divisional technology teams. Understand, follow and guide new product development projects through quality system procedures for key supply chain activities within Gore\u2019s quality management system.\u00a0 Develop and maintain key supply chain data that can be integrated into Gore\u2019s core systems through the development life-cycle. Review and develop confidentiality agreements, development agreements, SOW\u2019s and supply agreements. Participate in R&D core team activities, such as: reviewing specifications, drawings, inspection procedures, supporting change orders, updating data for suppliers & materials in Gore\u2019s PLM system. Facilitate communications between Gore engineering associates and suppliers to maintain good relationships and to solve complex technical and supply chain problems. Create and drive standard and complex RFP\/RFQ\u2019s. Identify suppliers (existing or new) that fit Gore\u2019s project needs, develop and qualify new sources of supply. Qualify new materials and support supplier process validation activities. Support supplier risk assessment activities within the projects assigned. Interface with new project development team and supplier to facilitate Design for Reliability, Manufacturing & Supply (DRMS). Collaborate with category team on strategy and deployment to all areas of the business supported by the technical buying commitment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or Business related field OR a minimum of 5 years procurement experience in lieu of a degree Minimum of 2\u00a0years of experience in procurement supporting new product development for custom manufactured products. The ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.\u00a0 Experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Proficiency in the procure to pay process with an understanding of procurement best practices. Demonstrated project management skills showing ability to initiate, prioritize and drive projects with external supply partners to completion. Excellent verbal, written skills and a professional working style. Demonstrated networking, influencing and change management skills. Must be innovative, proactive, and motivated with a focus on continuous improvement. Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as a member of cross-functional teams. Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to be self-directed to consistently meet internal customer and external supplier needs on sensitive issues. Knowledge of contractual law for external supply, development and non-disclosure agreements. This position requires the candidate to travel 10-15% of their time. \u00a0Desired Job Qualifications:\u00a0 Master\u2019s Degree in a Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or Business related field Eight years procurement experience Experience in procurement\u00a0for a regulated industry.\u00a0 Knowledge of ISO13485.\u00a0 Experience with purchasing chemicals.\u00a0 Experience working with contract manufacturers for finished product.\u00a0 Oracle ERP experience.\u00a0 CPSM, C.P.M., SPSM or any other procurement certifications.\u00a0 CPIM or any other planning certifications.\u00a0 Specialized training in purchasing and supply chain management.\u00a0 Six Sigma certified.
