Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. Operations and Supply Chain employees have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of our operations worldwide.

Seeking an individual to fill a highly critical position affording exposure to innumerable facets of UTC Aerospace’s (UTAS) robust and expanding business.

The highly motivated team player filling this position will have the opportunity to team with Global Operations and SBU’s, program management, spares management, the supply chain organization and the external supply base at large. He or she will exercise a valuable skill-set by cultivating relationships with the aforementioned entities and acting as one of UTAS’ focal points for its supply chain management efforts.

The responsibilities include managing a procurement desk of 16 suppliers with estimated total spend of approximately $22m, coordinating, implementing, and leading procurement activities on the Engineered Items Purchasing Team.

Responsibilities:

Drive on-time delivery, lead-time reduction; purchase material cost containment, and sustained quality improvement.

Manage major supplier alliances, drive optimization in the procurement process with the systems and tool, and support all Global Operations supply chain customer requirements associated with Engineered Items.

Oversee supplier performance, demand management, supplier administration, negotiations, and supply chain continuous improvement.

Monitor and improve purchasing key performance indicators including, but not limited, to “on-time” order placement, delivery performance, PPM, RTV, and other metrics.

Serve as focal primary focal ensuring compliance of all purchase orders and purchasing process improvements.

Obtain and negotiate competitive bids, price justification, purchase order placement, working with commodity leadership in establishing prudent long term agreement (LTA) contract management strategies, demand management, delivery and quality performance monitoring, supplier development using the ACE inspired tools

Interface with the engineering and qualities departments.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

2 years of experience in Buyer/Procurement/Supply Chain/Operations based role

Must have an understanding of the ACE operating system and process improvement tools (e.g. standard work, value stream management, passport process, quality clinic process charts, relentless root cause analysis, 5S)

Demonstrated understanding of the basics of supply chain management, including inventory management, manufacturing resources planning (MRP), demand planning, and capacity management.

Experience managing single-sourced Hardware, Value Engineering, Part Standardization and familiarity with procurement process, a plus.

Proven ability in Microsoft Office Suite (writing documents in Word, creating and managing spreadsheets in Excel with macros, VLOOKUP, etc…, and navigating Outlook email)

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft PowerPoint is preferred

The successful candidate should be a self-starter possessing sound technical judgment in addition to having the ability to integrate, interpret and act on conflicting or incomplete information in pursuit of an objective.

Self-motivated, organized nature with excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a fast-pace environment and excel on a team setting

Desire to take initiative and work efficiently and effectively

Education:

BS or BA degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, Engineering or related field required.

Master's or other advanced degree preferred
