Key Role Responsibilities - Core
PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT FAMILY -  CORE
Works collaboratively with the management and design team to coordinate supplier selection, credit and terms, track supplier performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluation to drive project procurement efficiencies.
Creates and tracks purchase orders, supply agreements and contracts through coordination with the project team and legal department.
Creates and maintains project procurement plans, and assures proper execution throughout the entire project (initial estimates, orders and ongoing deliverables) by thoroughly understanding the project scopes and specifications.
Conducts research via the Internet, catalogues, trade publications, and trade shows to identify potential suppliers.
Interviews prospective suppliers either face-to-face or over the phone to determine prices, discounts, terms, etc.
Develops spreadsheets with vendor and product or service comparisons of prospective suppliers to support management decisions.
Maintains and provides regular cost metrics based on current pricing and installation rates.
Prepares, maintains and reviews purchasing files and records, price lists, requisition status, contracts and orders, locate suppliers, calculate the cost of orders, ensure invoices are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Manages inbound logistics of goods sourced and procured including carrier or forwarder selection, quoting, executing shipments, customs clearance and all other related duties.
Develops plans for the effective organization and temporary storage of project materials and general inventories at various company and/or independent warehouse locations.
Ensures maintenance of accurate records for all stored materials, and the safe, secure and orderly upkeep of company warehouses.
Prepares and communicates product availability, lead times, and cost roadmaps for key materials to facilitate meeting project demands to the Business Development, Engineering and Construction teams.
Monitors and supports returns, damage replacements, and warranty claims.
Reads and outlines project specifications, plans, and scope of work documents to determine the procurement requirements of the project.

Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
Communication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate).
Proficiency in MS Office with emphasis on strong Excel skills (Intermediate).
Ability to read and understand construction contracts (Intermediate).
Excellent time management and prioritization skills
Proficiency in required construction and/or procurement technology.
Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction management or related field (Required).
In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
5 years experience in industrial procurement or Logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or commercial construction environment (Required).
5 years experience in negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
