Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Director and Managing Counsel, Legal Procurement to be a key leader to manage and develop a world class commercial procurement contracts team. Reporting to the VP Legal, Commercial, this role will manage an existing and growing team of global lawyers and legal professionals and drive improvements in process, policy, and contract review to help support and empower Twilio’s business as it grows. This role requires a deep understanding of a wide variety of domestic and international procurement contracts and the ability to ruthlessly prioritize and analyze risk to appropriately deploy resources. This role will also partner with Sourcing, A/P, legal operations, internal clients, IT, and other internal teams on process and policy improvements. J.D. with strong academic credentials and demonstrated record of success building and scaling a procurement legal team
10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years negotiating complex commercial agreements and 2 years leading a procurement legal function
Knowledge of contract lifecycle management systems
Experience developing and refining playbooks and templates to drive efficient and scalable contract review
Proven ability to build strong teams capable of handling a high volume of contracts relating to software, marketing, real estate, professional services, contingent workers, NDAs, events, and more.
Strong business acumen and ability to properly balance risks and business reward with a dedication to superior client service
Proficiency in developing and generating reports to track key metrics to empower data-driven decision making
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to advocate for a position while maintaining a collaborative and open-minded approach
Ability to triage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong preference for someone with prior relevant experience at a technology (software) company

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Twilio's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Colorado.
Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well.
Salary:
Denver/Boulder Metro:
Salary Range: 177,024- 243,408
Rest of Colorado:
Salary Range: 165,960 - 207,450
Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
