Job Description

Job Title: Fluorescent Penetrant Inspector

Department: FPI

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Hourly/Non-Exempt

Purpose of this Position

JOB DESCRIPTION: Perform Liquid Penetrant Testing using specific techniques on aerospace products. Uses knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, equipment set-up, and NDT methods to process parts for inspection following specific operating procedures. Interprets and evaluates test results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Review routers, procedures, specifications, drawings and other instructions for completeness and instructions to perform operation

Process part(s) in accordance with procedures and technical instructions to evaluate for welding, machining, cold forming, and/or casting discontinuities exceeding requirements specified

Set-up, operate, calibrate, and perform Process Control Checks on NDT (Liquid Penetrant Test) equipment by following established instructions and record results

Interpret, evaluate, and report evaluation results as required

Fill out required logs and work sheets as required

Clean equipment and ensures it is working properly, and clean and maintain work area as needed

May perform other NDT tasks as qualified for and as required (visual, MPI, etc.)

Maintain required job skills and knowledge of requirements (including procedures, specifications, etc.)

Maintain work area, equipment, and all documents/records to be audit ready at all times

Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to Level I NDT Inspectors, trainees and fellow Level II NDT Inspectors

Assist the Level III in developing specific test techniques

Job Requirements

Qualifications

- Well-developed knowledge of sourcing or category management processes, global sourcing experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills, experience with E sourcing tools

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree in Business or equivalent experience

3-5 sourcing experience with a large industrial manufacturing company

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, customer testing specifications, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, data and details furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

- Professional Qualifications CPSM, CIPS, 6Sigma preferred

Physical Demands

- Lifting requirements: lifting 50 lbs. sporadically.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs periodically.

- Team player with initiative and a positive attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal

- Strong ability to effectively manage in a matrix organizational structure working with multiple internal stakeholders
