About this Job:
This position is based at Cenduit’s corporate headquarters at Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and will be responsible for leading, managing and improving the Contracts and Legal functions to efficiently produce accurate and timely information to both external and internal customers regarding legal agreements, and pricing.
Lead contract negotiations for all Cenduit contracts and change order proposals, in consultation with legal counsel and/or Finance. Provide the interface between legal counsel and business groups.
Improve contracting standards and change order proposal standards and lead efficiency initiatives.
Oversee the selection, implementation, improvements and maintenance of contracts related support systems.
Develop processes, metrics and reports to manage Contracts workload in order to meet customers’ requirements.
Approve all legal documents prior to internal/external signature.
Resolve any contracts and/or change order proposal issues in conjunction with the attorney and internal customers.
Attend monthly meetings including revenue-related meetings.
Participate in the development of department procedures and processes.
Manage contracts staff which have direct responsibility of administering and analyzing contracts and change order proposals. Develop team members through coaching and mentoring.
Support Contracts staff on prioritizing and delivering all contracting services.
Provide advice, support, guidance and training to staff as needed on contractual matters - resolve and drive issues internally.
Coordinate corporate governance including statutory filings and meetings.
Lead periodic review of legal boilerplates with legal counsel, management and other stakeholders.
Analyze and recommend legal strategies as it relates to privacy, trials risks, coordinating legal activities on M&A, and standard legal terms.
This role requires occasional domestic and international travel (estimated at less than 5%).
Qualified Candidates Should Posess:
Superior knowledge of contracting processes and standards
Ability to prepare, interpret budgets, use pricing models and asses risks
Strong attention to detail
Ability to interpret proposals (Clinical Trial protocol experience a plus)
Resourceful and innovative approach to problem solving
Excellent motivation, team-building, and leadership skills
Superior planning, analytical, and organization skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
Established client facing communication skills (both verbal and written) – ability to present information, manage situations, negotiate conflicts, and influence others
Strong problem solving/process improvement skills with ability to be part of and own solutions
Ability to make decisions without direct supervision
Education and Expereince:
Degree in Business, Procurement or similar field and 10 plus years’ experience in contracts management, business development, purchasing, proposal and/or budget preparation.
Related industry and project management experience a plus.
At least 3 – 5 years prior supervisory experience.
Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.
