Sr. Procurement Specialist
firstPRO is seeking a Sr. Procurement Specialist to join a fast-growing Manufacturer of control equipment located in Chester County. This Buyer reports to VP of Operations to oversee the daily vendor management, vendor sourcing, and material acquisition; he/she will work closely with Engineering, Sales, Quality, Production, and Planning Team to optimize procurement of materials based on demand forecast, production lead time, and inventory availability. This is a permanent full-time opportunity with lucrative compensation, competitive benefit and positive career advancement, company would like to develop this individual to be the Purchasing/Material Manager in the near future. Responsibilities: Report to VP of Operations to procure raw materials and service based on production needs and demand forecast. Work closely with planning team to analyze Sales Volume and production lead-times, analyze inventory level (cycle and safety stocks), and inventory aging period to determine inventory replenishment on work order shortage. Expedite orders as required to meet customer needs and the manufacturing needs. Manage suppliersâ€™ portfolio, collect and analyze data regarding vendor performance, vendor lead-times, backorder ratios, return ratios and quality compliance, conduct vendor audit as needed. Continuously source and approve new vendors using market knowledge on certain product lines; negotiation for cost-effective contracts and pricing. Ensure quality compliance based on customer requirement, ensure ongoing dialogue with suppliers to reduce lead-times and drive cost down, ensure supplier quality and on-time delivery. Provide hands-on support for the life cycle of procurement from creating PO, inventory management, expedite purchase order, resolve vendor or logistic issues, release materials to production, etc. Support inventory management, strategically improvement inventory turns and metrics based on demand and production volume, reduce cycle time, obsolescence, balanced safety and cycle stock. Qualifications: Bachelorâ€™s Degree and recent 5 years of experience in Procurement for Manufacturing industry, preferable knowledge in metal components. Knowledge with Government contract and compliance. Basic technical knowledge in components parts and understands engineering blueprints. Solid knowledge in market conditions on certain component products/parts, able to source and negotiate new suppliers using market knowledge. Experience in complex data analysis on vendor performance based on customer requirement, sales volume and production planning. Strong numerical and analytic skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills. Able to establish a good rapport with suppliers, customers and internal customers. Proficient with ERP and Excel. US Citizen Must be able to pass background check (10 years) and lab drug test.
