Established in 1959, the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (IDB) is today the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. It provides loans, grants, guarantees, policy advice and technical assistance to the public and private sectors of its borrowing member countries.
The Knowledge Management Division (KNM), within the Bank’s Knowledge and Learning Sector (KNL), develops and implements knowledge management strategies, services and products in order to contribute to improved development effectiveness of the Bank’s operations and of the development agendas of the borrowing member countries. KNM collaborates with the Bank’s organizational units to enhance the capture, sharing, dissemination and use of the knowledge generated from the operational experience of the Bank, its counterparts and executing agencies.
A concomitant priority of the Knowledge Management Division is to collaborate with the operational divisions of the Vice Presidencies of Sectors & Knowledge, of Countries and of the Private Sector, to effectively disseminate (internally and externally) the bodies of knowledge that they have compiled from their analytical and operational work. These efforts strengthen the Bank’s development partnership with the region, enhancing its position to work effectively with borrowing member countries toward the reduction of poverty and inequality and the promotion of sustainable growth.
In this context, KNL/KNM seeks a dynamic individual with experience in the preparation and implementation or supervision of development projects to work with partners across the Bank to design, execute and evaluate knowledge management strategies and activities, to support the achievement of these organizational objectives.
Collaborate with technical units across the Bank in the development of proposals for impact evaluations and other evaluations of Bank-financed operations that will produce evidence and lessons that can be used in the preparation of future projects and programs. Support the effective dissemination of the evidence and lessons produced by those evaluations.
Develop and implement innovative mechanisms to enhance the dissemination of the Bank’s experience and knowledge products.
Contribute to capacity-building in key partner organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Reach out proactively to IDB staff, academic and public institutions, NGOs, think tanks, and other international organizations working on development issues in borrowing and non-borrowing countries to establish links and share proven knowledge management proven approaches.
Act as knowledge and learning liaison to one or more organizational units of the Bank, aligning work with client needs and development impact.
: Master’s Degree in Business or Public Management, Economics or a development-related field.
: Minimum of eight years of experience in the preparation, execution, supervision, evaluation and/or analysis of development projects with at least two years of international experience. Previous work with the IDB Group is a plus, as is experience with impact evaluation and other types of evaluation of development projects and programs.
Demonstrated experience with applied research and critical analysis of development issues. Experience with international development organizations is a plus, as is experience in the design and application of strategic communications tools, knowledge management methodologies, learning needs assessments, and development of proposals for knowledge and learning products.
: Proficiency in English and Spanish. Working knowledge of a third of the Bank's official languages (either French or Portuguese) is a plus.
