They negotiate production capacities and strategize chase plans to ensure that on time product deliveries, cost/IMU and quality goals are met. All team members are solution oriented and have the ability to build strong cross functional partnerships with Product Development, Production, Planning/Inventory Mills/vendors. As an Associate Sourcing Manager, you execute the sourcing strategies for the department from initial projection to final placement. You will develop and own the chase/flex plan for each season, maximizing cost/IMU and will partner with Planning in final placement and flow. You will have day to day communication with the vendors and be the point of contact as it relates to production and on time delivery. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Execute vendor and mill strategy to support Product Development Strategy.Category IMU roll up and finalization of costs.Negotiate and analyze lead times to maximize flexibility and speed for initial and reorders.Develop and negotiate chase strategies to support business needs.Execute and assist on alternate vendor strategiesAssist in identifying needs for new suppliers/factories/marketsIn collaboration with Planning, execute production line efficiencies and annual projections on Key Items.Assess and analyze vendor capacities along with projections and secure allocation strategies.SKILLS:A complete knowledge of garment construction and garment production, as well as a working knowledge of vendor management for hard goods, shoes, accessories and luggage.Proven experience in developing long-term relationships, and negotiating strategic agreements to ensure constant cost and quality improvements.Previous experience in product development and/or sourcingMaximize value by reducing overall costs while improving the quality of goods and service levels.Strong analytical skills as well as interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.Attention to detail, follow-through and organization skills are critical.Strong PC skills with working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access and Business Objects.
