The Associate of Policy and Training is responsible for supporting the creation, execution and maintenance of procurement policies and procedures aligned to Corporate requirements. This role will support the Sr Manager of Governance to partner with the International Team to optimize the policies/procedures and helps in monitoring compliance, effectively managing and communicating all changes. This team member will also support the development of training programs, identifying solutions for the storage and maintenance of training content, coordinating scheduling and delivery of content, and implementing programs to identify the effectiveness of training/trainers to identify opportunities for improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports the creation, execution and maintenance of procurement procedures and policies
Supports ensuring procurement policies and procedures align and adhere to relevant Corporate policies/requirements on an ongoing basis
Supports the Sr Mgr in the spend compliance and spend management of $7.5 billion in spend for Tyson.
Supports the International Tyson team to optimize Procurement policies and procedures that result in mitigating risk, reducing costs and maximizing profits.
Provides guidance on interpretation and execution of procurement policies and procedures
Supports communicating changes to procurement policies and procedures to the organization; support regular department-wide communications and meetings
Supports managing the storage and maintenance of policy and procedure documentation to ensure easy access by all stakeholders
Supports developing and implementing mechanisms to monitor and reinforce compliance to procurement policies and procedure
Supports identifying and reporting on non-compliance to procurement policies, work with stakeholders to define corrective action plans and monitor execution
Supports consulting with functional procurement teams to identify opportunities to drive efficiencies in process and strengthen collaboration/synergies across areas
Supports developing programs to promote and manage knowledge transfer and best practice sharing across the department
Supports developing sustainable training programs on procurement processes, S2P technology, and Interfacing ERP Technology/Requirements, tailored to fit the needs of the department, business stakeholders and external suppliers
Supports coordinating and scheduling and delivery of training courses across multiple platforms/channels (in-person, live webinar, etc.)
Supports the conducting of training courses and support sessions (e.g. open Q&A forums) using various channels (in-person, conference call) on procurement processes and technology
Supports managing the storage and maintenance of training documentation to ensure easy access by all stakeholders
Supports reviewing and updating training material as always needed to ensure accuracy and up-to-date content
Supports the onboarding process for new employees in the procurement department
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
0 years’ experience in Procurement or a related field
Computer Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in spreadsheet, database, and statistical analysis
Proven ability to learn new applications
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Strong presentation and training skills are required
Special Skills:
Limited experience in collecting, manipulating, interpreting, and cleansing data. Limited analytical and interpretive skills to recognize, comprehend and assess data, complex issues, and industry information. Ability to prioritize activities and excellent time management / organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
Supervisory:
Ability to influence without positional authority
Travel:
Up to 4 domestic trips per year
